Description
I. Intended use: AstraGene’s 1X TE Buffer, pH 7.4 is an extensively used buffer in Molecular Biology. Its principal application includes protection of DNA and RNA from degradation. TE buffer, is composed of Tris, a buffering agent and EDTA, a chelating agent. EDTA prevents the degradation of DNA and RNA by chelating divalent metal ions which are required for nuclease activity.
II. Formulae & physical characteristics:1X TE buffer, pH 7.4 consists of 10 mM Tris and 1 mM EDTA adjusted to pH 7.4. This buffer is supplied as a ready to use solution.
