Calcium Chloride, anhydrous is a reagent used in tissue culture media and commonly used for competent cell preparation. Calcium chloride was used during the isolation of total β-glucan from hydrolyzed barley powders. Calcium Chloride also acts as a cross-linker in the preparation of Aloe vera pectin gels.
