X-Gal, Dropper liquid, 10 ml
Description
X-gal (5-Bromo-4-Chloro-3-Indolyl-β-D-Galactopyranoside) is a histochemical substrate widely used for beta-Galactosidase to identify lac+ bacterial colonies. It is used in conjunction with IPTG for blue/white colony screening. The solution contains 40mg/ml of X-gal (5-Bromo-4-Chloro-3-Indolyl-β-D-Galactopyranoside) supplied in two very easy and convenient to use format: i. Dropper Bottle (cat# 21530102-1) and ii. Spray Bottle (cat# 21530103-1).
Dropper Bottle:Â i. Drop (2-3 drops) on desired bacterial plate
ii. Spread and ensure absorption (wait ~5-10 minutes) and
iii. Plate the transformed bacteria to be tested and incubate
Stability: Stable for 6 months at 4°C. It is shipped at ambient temperature
