Description
Ampicillin Sodium Salt is a beta-lactam antibiotic with an amino side chain attached to 6-amino-penicillanic acid.
This Penicillin derivative inhibits bacterial cell-wall synthesis by inactivating transpeptidases on the inner surface of the cell membrane. It is often used as a selective agent for plasmid transformation.
