PBS is an isotonic buffer to human solutions. This means that it will not cause cell damage or disrupt normal cell processes.
Phosphate-Buffered-Saline is economically provided as a 10X concentrate that may be diluted with distilled water. pH of 7.4 will be maintained even upon dilution.
