RNA-spin™ Total RNA Extraction Kit is a spin-type product designed to extract total RNA quickly and easily from cells or tissues. Unlike the easy-spin™ (DNA free) Total RNA Extraction Kit, it uses chaotropic salt and detergent to effectively dissolve cells or tissues, denature nucleic acid proteins and inhibit RNase activity derived from cells without using phenol. In other words, R-Buffer and beta-mecaptoethnol in RNA-spin™ Total RNA Extraction Kit effectively inactivate RNase and denature cells and tissue proteins, so it allows RNA to be freely dissolved from proteins.

In addition to this, it is possible to effectively attach RNA only to the silica-gel membrane together with EtOH added after the dissolution process, thereby it helps the contamination of DNA and protein to be minimized. As mentioned above, this product can be safely used because it does not use harmful organic solvent, even it can extract only pure RNA very quickly and easily without EtOH precipitation. Total RNA extracted by RNA-spin™ Total RNA Extraction Kit has enough high purity and yield to be used for cDNA synthesis, RT-PCR, Northern Blot analysis, Dot Blot and primer extension etc. As the columns are packed individually by CAPS, contamination is remarkably reduced (see Figure 1).
